my story

My love for golf started on an unexpected day off school when I was seven. My mum was a keen golfer and soon I was hitting plastic balls in the backyard and sneaking onto the sports field at Campbells Bay Primary with my grandmother’s clubs. I joined Pupuke Golf Club at 12 and never looked back.

Before becoming a professional, I worked in golf course construction and turf management, including projects at Clearwater Resort and Glendhu Golf Course in Wanaka. I worked with the team behind Jack’s Point to help with the build and grow-in of Glendhu.

I turned professional in 2005 and completed my traineeship at Russley Golf Club in Christchurch. Since then, I’ve worked as the Club Professional at Remuera Golf Club and later as Head Professional at North Shore Golf Club. I managed coaching programmes, junior academies, and club operations.

In 2025, I became a full-time coach. It’s incredibly fulfilling to work with golfers from all walks of life and help them achieve their personal best.

I love spending time with my family, swimming including ocean swims and endurance events, and of course playing golf with friends. I’m also passionate about golf-course architecture, with some of my favourites being Alister MacKenzie and Tom Doak.
